Quilting and patchwork classes, Cairns Qld

Button Tree Quilts offers one-on-one classes in patchwork, quilting, bag making, crochet, knitting and embroidery. Based in Cairns, they offer classes for beginners to experts in patchwork and quilting.

Patchwork and quilting classes are available, with special guest tutors at various times during the year. Other craft classes are offered for beginners in crochet, knitting and embroidery.

Social groups meet on Tuesday nights, as well as Thursday and Friday mornings, making Button Tree Quilts a fun and pleasant place to visit.

They offer a wide range of embroidery, patchwork and quilting supplies as well as a good supply of high quality materials and a variety of kits.

Quilting classes using Japanese fabrics

Are you looking for unique quilting classes in Townsville? Quilted Kimono specialises in Japanese fabrics and batiks. They stock many patterns and quilting books in various styles, including bag patterns. They have a great range of Christmas fabrics all year long and also have a Japanese gift line and classes. Classes are held in the store by the owner, Debbie, and are suitable for absolute beginners to advanced quilters.

Class times are as follows:
Tuesday - Thursday and Saturday. 10am - 2pm and Friday 10am - 4pm.
The last Saturday of each month is a special class for Christmas Club.
They also have a Tuesday night class, 4:30pm - 7:30pm. The classes are just $5/hr and you can stay as long or little time as you like within the class period.

Requirements: sewing machine with quarter-inch foot and walking foot (preferable), rotary cutter and basic sewing supplies.
